CANADIAN DEFENDERS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS CALL ON CANADA TO STOP ALL WEAPON SALE TO SAUDI ARABIA OVER YEMEN’S WAR
On March 26, 2018 Canadian Defenders for Human Rights – a NGO dedicated to the promotion of human rights and civil liberties, will hold a protest against Saudi Arabia’s military campaign in Yemen.
Protesters will gather in front of PM Justin Trudeau’s residence in Ottawa and march towards Parliament, calling for Canada to immediately stop all weapon deals with the Saudi regime.
Canadian export controls prohibit the sale of arms to countries with a persistent record of serious human rights violations against their own citizens. And yet governments after governments have sanctioned the sale of weapons of war to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – a country which holds an abysmal human rights track record.
